Associated Student Body

Each spring, sixth- and seventh-graders at Chinook Middle School elect four of their peers to represent them during the next school year as the Associated Student Body (ASB) president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.

Each school year the 1st period classroom elects a Home Room Representative to attend monthly meetings.  At these meetings, the group plans events, approves or denys spenditures and sign up to work activities.

Anyone involved in ASB programs, such as music programs, clubs, sports, WEB or Leadership are required to purchase an ASB card.   Cost is $15, or $5 for those qualifying for free or reduced price meals.  ASB supports all the non-curriculum programs at the school. ASB does two fundraisers a year.  Along with the ASB Cards this pays for all activities and sports.

Band, Orchestra and Choir do a fall fundraiser each year which allows them to do performances at venues such as Leavenworth Christmas festivities, Spokane Lilac parade and trips to Silverwood to perform and have fun.

Did you know ASB pays for all sport equipment and uniforms for the school?   The state has tight regulations on sport equipment, the most expensive being the football helmets, refurbishing and purchasing runs around $4000.00 annually.
