ASB 2021-2022 ELECTIONS - ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED

ASB ELECTION GUIDELINES FOR 2021-22


April 26-30: ASB Officer Application available on ASB Google Classroom. Fill out the application and submit by April 30th 3:00 pm. Email two teachers requesting them to fill out a recommendation form (directions included in the application).

May 3-4: Screening of ASB Officer Applications (Mrs. Guajardo and Mrs. Hilmes will screen applications to make sure they are complete and the candidate meets the criteria)

May 5: Notify Candidates email approved candidates and include the Google Slide template (Campaign Poster) 

May 6-13:  Primary Campaign- Submit Campaign Poster (Google Slide) to be included in Timber Talk and begin talking to your peers about why you would be a good ASB Officer for Chinook. 

May 14: Primary Elections via Google Form. Officers announced (Top 3 vote getters for each grade level will become ASB Officers. They will decide amongst themselves which office they would like to hold. 8th grade Officers can choose between PresidentSecretary, or Senator7th grade Officers can choose between Vice-PresidentTreasurer or Senator. If two or more people would like to hold the same office, then they will run for that position in the General Election).

May 17-21: General Election Campaign (if needed, see above) If two or more Officers would like to run for the same position, they will create a Google Slide Campaign Poster with the specific position they are running for and this will be included in Timber Talk. 

May 21: General Election via Google Form (if needed, see above) ASB Officer positions announced.

MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS CLUB BEGINS 4-26-2021 SHOWING THE GIVER

MONDAY MOVIE MADNESS CLUB will meet Monday May 3,  2:35 – 4:35.  The first movie is The Giver.  Only 8th Graders may attend this movie.  Permission slips are required and available at room 203 and in the school office. Space is limited to the first 28 students to turn in their permission slip.  

You can get permission slips at room 203 or in the office. 

ART CLUB MOVING TO IN PERSON ON FRIDAYS

ART CONFIDENCE CLUB: A safe, encouraging group to help young enthusiasts develop their techniques, style and self-confidence through art.   Art club meets Fridays in room 104 2:45 – 3:45.

MINECRAFT CLUB NOW IN PERSON

MINECRAFT CLUB:  Minecraft Club now in person..  Mr. Garza will see all participating Minecrafters in room 131 2:35 – 4:00 on Thursdays

POKEMON CLUB BEGINS APRIL 27.

POKEMON CLUB:  Tuesday 2:40pm to 3:40pm in room 131.  Pokémon Club will be a place for students to make friends with other students through Pokémon. Students will be able to enjoy the video games, card game, TV show, any anything else related to the franchise.

HOMEWORK CLUBS OFFERED

Teachers are available to assist students with homework and other classroom work.

SEASON 4 SPORT REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

SPRING SPORTS:  Registration has begun for Spring Sport season which includes Girl’s Basketball, Wrestling and Baseball. Participants must have a Sport Physical and registration is online.  See Mrs. Harris or Mrs. Hilmes for details.
